Becoming a member
Are the workouts covered by my health insurance?
Selected health insurers will partially reimburse for the Pregnant Workout (and on occasion Back in Shape). Be sure to check your insurance policy and/or contact your insurer for more information.
It's been a few months since I gave birth, which workout is suitable for me?
Even if it has been a while since giving birth we would always advise you to start with Back in Shape. Discuss with your trainer when it might be the right time to move on to Mpower.
I have received a code for a free trial workout. How can I use it?
In order to sign up for a free trial workout go to the registration form on our website. Once there you can enter the discount code at the personal info section.
I would like to train on flexible days, is that possible?
Although we strive to have fixed groups in order to provide the optimal workout, it is very possible to train in a flexible manner. We will give you a regular day for your workout, and if you need to reschedule you can do so through the Member App.
I would like to get a membership, what do I have to do?
That's great! You can sign up using either our website or Member App.
I am really out of shape, can I still participate?
Of course you can! Mom in Balance provides programmes for all levels of fitness. The trainer will look to facilitate the right amount of differentiation in the workout to make sure that every member can get the most out of their workout.
Where can I find the terms and conditions and privacy policy of Mom in Balance?
Both the terms and conditions and the privacy policy can be found at the bottom of all pages on our website. Alternatively, you can find a link to both in your subscription conformation email
Can I start my membership at any time?
Yes, you can start at any moment of the month. In the first month you will pay pro rata.
Member App
why am I unable to open push notifications?
Have you received a push notification? It signals that you have received an email from us. There you will find the full message.
What are credits?
If you ever find yourself needing to cancel while being in a 1x a week membership you will receive a credit with which you can plan another lesson free of charge. You can save up to a maximum of 4 credits. Credits do not have an expiration date and can only be used with an active membership.
How can I change a booked workout?
When you can't come to a workout, you can sign out for this workout through the app. You can do this up to one hour before the start of the workout. If you have a membership for 1x per week, you will receive a credit. This credit can then be used to make up for this workout at a different time. You can save a maximum of 4 credits. You can use a credit within your subscription and doesn't expire.
Where can I find my credits?
If you have a 1x a week membership you can find your credits in the Member App under the profile tab. You can have up to a maximum of 4 credits stored. If you have an unlimited membership, you will not receive credits due to the fact that you are free to train whenever you want.
What is the Mom in Balance app?
The Mom in Balance app is a tool with which you can manage your workouts. You can plan your catch-up workouts, watch videos for your home routine and get inspired with tasty recipes or relaxation exercises.
I can't log in, what should I do?
You can find all information regarding the Member App in your confirmation email. If you find the information given in this email insufficient you can always send us and email. Another cause for the issue could arise when you have just switched locations, this happens because the app has to be configured to a new location. In order to fix this just log out of the app (through menu-settings) and re-enter your log in credentials.
Should I turn on push notifications?
We advise you to enable the push notifications of the app. Important information such as cancelling or one-off changes to your workouts are shared via email, of which you're notified through a push notification.
Workout
What type of clothing should I wear during the workout?
Comfortably fitting athletic wear and shoes. In the colder months we recommend layers, a hat and gloves. This will help keep you warm and provide you with the opportunity to remove layers if you get too warm.

I missed a workout, can I make it up?
As long as you have an active subscription, you can make up a missed lesson. Make sure to sign out of a workout when you miss it, that way you will receive credit, which you can use to work out on another day. Try to catch up with a missed lesson as quickly as possible so you can keep up with your workout routine! Missed lessons cannot be made up after the expiration of your subscription. You can sign in and out of workouts via the Member App, which can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Playstore.
Where can I put my stuff during the workout?
Take as little as possible to the workout. The trainers have a backpack to store your keys.
I can't make it to my workout every week, can I attend a Mom in Balance training on a different day?
We strive to have stable groups each week because we find this is best for participants. If you are unable to attend class on your assigned day you can easily reschedule a single lesson with the Mom in Balance APP. Do you want to change your fixed workout? Then you can send us an email. We are happy to arrange this for you!
How long does a workout last?
Workouts last an hour. At the starting time, the group will head into the park/forest, after that it might be difficult to find the group. So make sure to be on time!
Are the workouts always outside, even in winter?
Yes! It is especially refreshing to exercise outdoors during the cold winter months when you are often cooped up indoors.
I would like to train on flexible days, is that possible?

What do I need to bring to a workout?
We recommend bringing a bottle of water, and of course, a good attitude!
Do the workouts take place even when it rains or is really cold?
The outdoor workouts take place throughout the entire winter! It is especially invigorating to exercise outdoors during the cold winter months, when you are often cooped up indoors. Only in the case of very bad weather will the workout be cancelled. If you have push notification enabled the app will let you know. Otherwise this will be communicated to you by email at least one hour prior to the start of the workout. By inclement weather always check your email prior to departing for the workout. If your workout is cancelled, you may make it up on another day.
Are there workouts on national holidays?
In principle, the workouts take place year-round, with the exception of national holidays. There will be no refund or fee reduction given for these days but the workouts can be made up at any time. In some locations, however, the workouts do take place on national holidays, please check this at your training location.
I did not train this month, but money has been transferred anyways. How is this possible?
Payments take place each month, even if you were not present at the workout. If you happened to miss training you can always reschedule for another time.
Modify membership
I am currently expecting and doing Mpower. How long can I continue doing Mpower?
We advise to switch to the Pregnant workout at a maximum of 16 weeks pregnant. Mpower is not suited for the pregnant body. Tell your Mpower trainer of your pregnancy as soon as you are aware.
How do I change my personal data?
You can request changes to your personal data by email.
Can i reschedule my trial?
Certainly. Be sure to send a reply on your trial confirmation email letting us know when you could make it instead.
I have a continuous membership and want to postpone the start of Back in Shape. Is this possible?
Certainly, just send us an email containing your preferred starting date. Make sure to do this at most 2 days before the preferred starting date, giving us enough time to make preparations.
How do I change the workout series?
In your Member App you can change a single booking. Please send us an email if you would like to change the whole series.
I would like to switch to a different subscription method (month-, 12- or 18-months), how do i proceed?
Send us an email and we will let you know if it is possible to change your subscription.
I would like to transfer my membership or credits to someone else, is this possible?
The membership (and including credits) are entirely personal and not transferable.
I would like to change my membership selection (Pregnant, Back in Shape, Mpower), what do i do?
When you are ready to make the switch, send us an email and we will make the arrangements
Can I put my membership on hold?
We can temporarily put your membership on hold. See article 8.1 from our terms and conditions for more information.
I would like to convert my membership to unlimited or back to 1x per week. How do I do that?
You can request this per email. The transfer will go in effect from the first of the month. don't forget to inform us of which workout you want to keep doing or which one you would like to add on.
I have an injury/complication, what should I do?
We can temporarily put your membership on hold. See article 8.1 from our terms and conditions for more information.
I have a continuous membership and gave birth earlier or later than my due date. What should I do?
If it turns out that your due date does not match your actual delivery date you can inform us via email. We will adjust the starting date of your Back in Shape membership. 6 weeks after informing us of your delivery date the Back in Shape membership will start. You will be informed of this through email.
I am pregnant and due to complications I am unable to train. Can I put my mebership on hold?
We can temporarily put your membership on hold. See article 8.1 from our terms and conditions for more information.
Cancel membership
I have a 12/18 month membership, and I would like to end the membership prematurely, is this possible?
Information regarding this issue can be found in the terms and conditions of Mom in Balance. The answer to your question can be found in article 7.6.
I have a 12/18 month membership and I am moving soon. Can I prematurely terminate my membership?

I have a 12/18 month membership and I am going on vacation. Can I put my membership on hold?
It is not possible to freeze your membership due to vacation. However, by using the Mom in Balance Member App, it is possible to relocate workouts within the duration of the membership.
I have ended my membership and yet money has been deducted from my account. How is that possible?
We always collect the subscription fee for the month prior. You can find the period that the money has been collected for on the invoice.
How do I end my membership?
What a shame! You can end your membership by sending us an email. We would also like to receive a reason for cancellation. After that, we will send you a confirmation email. You can end your membership when the minimal duration of your membership has passed and has a 1 month cancellation period.
What happens to my credit balance after termination of my membership?
You are free to use credits until your cancellation date. Any credits that might have been left unused will still be in your account if you choose to renew your membership.
I currently own a monthly membership and would like to terminate it, is this possible?
You are always free to end your monthly membership, always remember the 1 month cancellation period. Would you like to immediately stop then we can put your membership on hold. This is only possible in special circumstances like illness, injury or pregnancy-related complications. For further information check the Mom in Balance terms and conditions.
What happens to my credit balance after termination of my membership?
You are free to use credits until your cancellation date. Any credits that might have been left unused will still be in your account if you choose to renew your membership.
Membership
Do you offer a flexcard?
No, we do not offer a flexcard in the Netherlands.
What types of memberships are there?
When signing up you choose between a flexible membership, a 12-month membership or an 18-month membership. Within these memberships, you can easily switch between the Pregnant, Back in Shape and Mpower workouts.
What are the costs of the memberships?
The costs of your preferred workout can be found under the COSTS tab on our website. When you choose your location a list with prices will pop up.
Is there a minimal period for a membership?
The minimum duration of membership is one month. In order to acquire this membership, one must choose the flexible membership option. Important: Your one-month membership will be automatically switched to an unlimited time period membership after one month. It will not stop automatically.
What happens with my membership after 12 or 18 months?
Once the duration of the membership has expired, the membership will be tacitly renewed for an indefinite period, unless you terminated the membership.
I'm going on holiday, can I make up the missed lessons later on?
Yes, you can make up the lessons you miss during your Holidays. You can use the Member App to register to reschedule your workouts.
How do i pay membership fees?
Payment is via direct debit, and will be collected at the end of each month.
I previously had a different membership, but i cant seem to find it. how is this possible?
As per the first of December 2019 we have switched to new subscription methods. First choose the minimum membership duration and select the workout that you wish to start with: Pregnant Workout, Back in Shape or Mpower.
Mpower
I train with Back in Shape. When can I switch to Mpower?
We advise our members to start with Mpower a minimum of 5 months after giving birth. So when are you ready? Follow this checklist: 1. Your diastase is adequately closed. 2. You have stopped experiencing complaints to the pelvic area: no more loss of urine and pelvic pains. in doubt? Contact a pelvic physiotherapist in order to recieve quality advice. 3. You are able to run for a period of 10 minutes without experiencing complaints. 4. 5 months after giving birth. Ready to switch? talk to your trainer and mail us for a Mpower trial class.
What is Mpower?
Mpower is an intensive workout that combines challenge, competition and fun in order to give both body and mind a boost. The workout is suited for all women who are both willing to be challenged and always strife to be the best they can be. We advise our members to start with Mpower a minimum of 5 months after giving birth.
Is Mpower for every fitness level?
Mpower is a workout that is suitable for all fitness levels, even if you are not (yet) fully fit. You will be advised by our professional trainers regarding which exercises are doable, and which are best for later.
I haven't done sports for a while. Can I join the Mpower workout?
It is easily possible to start the Mpower workout at your own pace. We will motivate you to follow the Mpower workout on a weekly basis so that you will be feeling fit in no-time.
I have a level of good physical fitness. Are Mpower workouts challenging enough for me?
They sure are! The Mpower workouts are designed in a way that will allow you to challenge yourself at your own fitness level. At the same time different training locations are working towards an end goal which primarily consists of joining a running event.
What does Mpower have to offer besides the workout?
More often than not one component is at the center of a Mpower workout, for example core or buttocks & legs. All Mpower members have acces to the homeroutine video's in which allow you to get a home workout in! We keep track of your personal records and challenge you to give just that little bit extra in your workout. apart from that we also provide extra Mpower clinics, and you can find special Body & Mind challenges which include tips and tricks regarding nutrition and relaxation.
Back in Shape
I train with Back in Shape. When can I switch to Mpower?

We advise our members to start with Mpower a minimum of 5 months after giving birth. So when are you ready? Follow this checklist: 1. Your diastase is adequately closed. 2. I've just given birth, when can I start the workouts?
You can start with our Back in Shape programme six weeks after giving birth. if you had a complicated delivery consult with your gynecologist/midwife regarding a suitable starting date.
I've given birth via C-section, when can I start Back in Shape?
Even after giving birth via C-section you can start six weeks after giving birth. But, during your follow-up check make sure to inform with your gynecologist/midwife to see if you are ready.
I did not cancel my Pregnant membership. What will happen after my due date?
On your expected due date we will put your membership on hold for a period of 6 weeks. after which your Back in Shape membership will automatically start.

Pregnant Workout
I would like to participate in the pregnant workout, but can only do so for a couple of weeks because I am close to my due dat. Can I still subscribe?
Yes, you can! There is never a bad moment to be working on your health, and it helps during childbirth! you can choose to sign up for either a 1, 12 or 18 month subscription. Your membership will be temporarely put on hold starting on your due date until 6 weeks after giving birth. after this period your membership will automatically switch to Back in Shape.
I have a membership with minimum duration of one month. Does this membership automatically end on my due date?
No. Your membership will automatically switch to a Back in Shape membership, with a 6 week maternity period in between. However, if you choose to terminate your membership you can do so by sending us an email. Keep in mind that we have a 1 month cancellation period.
I'm pregnant, when can I start with the workouts?
From the moment that you find out that you are expecting we would like to welcome you to join the Pregnant Workout. Most of our members start around the 12 to 16 week mark. Are you further along? No problem! you are still most welcome to join our sessions, all the way to your due date.
I'm pregnant with twins or triplets, can I train responsibly with Mom in Balance?
You can definitely come train with us. If necessary the trainer can adapt the exercises to suit your needs. And just let us know if it gets a bit too hard.
I have pelvic complaints or pelvic instability, can I still participate in the workouts?
In most cases it is possible and even advised to work out in order to strengthen the pelvic muscles. However, if you have any complaints we would like to advise you to inform with a registered pelvic physiotherapist in order to gain knowledge on the cause and what to do/not to do. At Mom in Balance we work closely with pelvic physiotherapists. Let us know of any complaints either while signing up or when talking to a trainer so that the trainer can take this in account during the workout.
Coronavirus measures
Can I freeze my membership because of the Coronavirus?

To keep you fit and full of energy, we offer several alternatives: 16 different livestream workouts per week and many extra online workouts for at home. This way we hope to keep all our members fit, even if we cannot exercise outside. If this does not appeal to you, you can choose to temporarily pause your membership. We will reactivate your membership as soon as we can resume our outdoor workouts.

Can I pause or freeze my membership?

Freezing or pausing your membership is possible. Even though we temporarily cannot train outside, we are doing everything possible to keep you fit; especially now! Therefore, you can continue using your membership. Exclusively for our members we offer online workouts via livestream so that you can keep up with your sports routine. Every week there are 16 different workouts that you can join. Furthermore, the Member App has many extra online workouts for at home.

For changes in your membership, the same rules apply as before the Corona measures.
How can I participate in the livestream workouts via Zoom with my computer?

Follow these steps:

  1. Click the link of the workout you want to join. A page will open where the Zoom program will automatically be download. Then click on the downloaded program to open it. It is possible that an installation process will still follow. In that case, follow this installation process. Note: You do not have to create an account. The link of this step is sufficient.
  2. Enter your name and email address. (Unfortunately, the system requires your e-mail address, your e-mail address is not stored by us.) For the use of your data by the platform Zoom, we refer you to the privacy policy of Zoom
  3. You are now in the video call. You may have to wait a few minutes until the trainer is also present.
  4. It is important to remain on MUTE yourself. Otherwise, there will be too much background noise and you will not be able to hear the trainer.
How can I participate in the livestream workouts via Zoom with my mobile phone?

Follow these steps:

  1. Click the link of the workout you want to join. A new page will open. Do you have the zoom app on your phone? Click on Join meeting. Do you not have the zoom app on your phone yet? At the top you can click on a link that takes you to the App Store / Google play store where you can download the app. When the app is downloaded, do not click on open, but go back to the website. Click on Join meeting.
  2. Enter your name and email address. (Unfortunately, the system requires your e-mail address, your e-mail address is not stored by us.) For the use of your data by the platform Zoom, we refer you to the privacy policy of Zoom
  3. You are now in the video call. You may have to wait a few minutes until the trainer is also present.

Will I keep my credits if I decide to freeze my membership?

You can save a maximum of 4 credits. After your membership is reactivated, you can use your credits that you have previously saved within a paid membership period.

During this period, you do not have to register yourself for our livestream workouts. Therefore, you also do not have to cancel your normal workouts.

No outdoor workouts until April 28th, join our LIVESTREAM!

Due to the measures regarding the Coronavirus, we will not have any outdoor workouts until April 28th. We hope to be able to contribute to decrease the spread of the Coronavirus. Do not worry, we will continue our workouts online. 7 days a week you can follow workouts via our LIVESTREAM!

Can I still register for a new membership?
Due to the situation we are now giving online workouts. This way we can keep you fit and full of energy. Exclusively for members, we offer different online workouts: per week there are 16 different live stream workouts and there are extra online workouts available for at home, for example, the ‘7-minute total body workout’ and a ‘Family home routine workout’. Register for a membership now and you will have access to our Members app. Via the Members App, you can join the live stream workouts and find extra online workouts. 
Should I cancel my workouts in the Member app?

At this moment the regular outdoor workouts are being removed from the planning and replaced by the workouts we will live stream. Therefore you do not have to cancel your workouts in the app.

Even though we temporarily can't give any outdoor workouts, we are doing everything to keep our members involved, fit and full of energy. Exclusively for our members, we now offer online workouts via a live stream so that you can keep your sports routine. Furthermore, we offer extra online workouts for at home; check the Member App for videos! 

Should I cancel my workouts in the app myself or does this happen automatically?
The outdoor workouts are cancelled in the app until April 28th. You can no longer register for those. The credits you already had will remain. Until April 28th we offer online (live stream!) workouts. Every week there are 16 different live stream workouts and there are extra online workouts available for at home, for example, a ‘7-minute total body workout’ and a ‘Family home routine workout’. You can participate as often as you want, you do not have to register for these workouts.
Can I change my membership due to the Coronavirus?
We refer you to our terms and conditions. The measures we are taking to help stop the spreading of the Coronavirus is not a valid reason to stop your membership. We have changed our offer to live stream workouts so that luckily you can stay fit and strong.
I have not officially been tested for Covid-19 but I do not feel fit enough to train, can I freeze my membership?
It is not possible to freeze your membership. When you feel fit again you can join our livestream workouts as often as you want until April 6th. Hopefully we can resume our workouts outside after April 6th and welcome you back to our parks! You can then also use your credits you still have in your app. 
Can I freeze my membership due to the Coronavirus?
In order to keep you fit we offer different workout alternatives: every week there are 16 different live stream workouts and there are also extra online workouts available. Check the Member App for more information. You can catch up on your missed workouts you already have credits for later. 
My due date is before April 28th, can I cancel my membership earlier?

No, the regular terms and conditions apply. We have temporarily replaced our outdoor workouts by live stream workouts. This way you can stay fit and full of energy. Every week we offer 18 different workouts via a live stream so that you can keep your sports routine. Furthermore, we offer extra online workouts for at home; check the Member App for more information. 

 

The start date of my new membership is before April 28th, can I postpone this?
We are doing our best to offer a great alternative to our outdoor workouts. Exclusively for our members, we offer online workouts via a live stream so that you do not have to miss out on your sports routine. Every week we offer 16 different workouts. Furthermore, there are extra online workouts for at home. Therefore there is no reason not to start with our Mom in Balance workouts right away! 
My membership is ending between now and April 28th. I still have credits left. What happens now?

We now offer online workouts. This way you can stay fit and full of energy. We offer different workouts: per week we have 16 different live stream workouts and we have extra online workouts for at home. You can join as often as you want. Check the Member App for more information. 

You can have a max of 4 credits in your Member App that you can use during active membership. If you decide to extend your membership your credits will stay valid. 

Can I receive compensation for the weeks that there are no outdoor workouts?
Even though we are temporarily not giving any outdoor workouts, we are doing everything to keep you engaged, fit and full of energy. Exclusively for our members, we offer online workouts via a live stream so that you can keep your sports routine. Furthermore, we offer extra online workouts for at home; check the Member App for more information. 
How does it work with the payment of my membership?
The measures we are taking to help stop the spread of the Coronavirus is not a valid reason to change your membership. We have replaced our outdoor workouts to daily online workouts via a live stream so that luckily you can stay fit and strong while working out in your own home. 
Can I cancel my membership (right away) since there are no outdoor workouts due to the Coronavirus?

We have replaced our outdoor workouts with online live stream workouts. This way you can stay fit and full of energy. Exclusively for our members, we offer online workouts via a live stream so that you can keep your sports routine. Furthermore, we offer extra online workouts for at home; check the Member App for more information. 

Would you still like to cancel your membership, then the 1-month cancellation policy will apply.

How is the privacy policy of Zoom?

Mom in Balance has a paid Zoom account which states that the security of all personal data is guaranteed. No personal data is released when Zoom is used by members. As a member you can choose with which (fictive) name you would like to sign-in. Your email address will not be used by us. For further questions about the use of the Zoom platform, we refer you to Zoom’s privacy policy.

We record all livestream videos. Only the trainer can be seen on the recording. All participating members will not feature in the video.

I booked a trial session. Can I do my trial session via the livestream?
Of course, you are welcome to join our live stream workout! We will call you before the workout to give you some tips for during the workout. 
Depending on the workout you choose we will ask you questions for example what your due date is/how long ago you had your baby/if you have any injuries. We will then explain how our workouts are built up and what kind of things you have to take into account. This is important so that we can guarantee a responsible workout. 
How can I participate in the live stream workouts?
You will find the link to the workouts in the Member App. In the app, under 'Inspiration', you will find a link to the live stream. Click on 'Live workouts' and choose the workout you would like to join. You will also find a description of how you can participate.
 
How can I register for a live stream workout?
You do not need to register for the livestream workouts. In the app, under 'Inspiration', you will find a link to the livestream workouts. Click on 'Live workouts' and choose the workout you would like to join.
I do not have zoom. Can I still join the live stream workout?
Zoom is an online program that you do not have to install. You can open it in your internet browser.
I do not have a PC or laptop. Can I still join the live stream workouts?
Zoom is an online program that you do not have to install. You can also open Zoom on your phone or tablet.
How does the sound work during the live stream?
Click on your screen, a bar will appear at the top and the bottom of your screen. In the top left-hand corner you can turn the sound on and off. Always check if you are on "mute". You can change this in the bottom left-hand corner.
Is it the same link for every livestream workout?

No, each livestream workout has another link. Therefore always check the Member App for the right link for the livestream workout you want to join!

I cannot join the livestream at the scheduled time. Can I watch it later?

Every week we offer 18 different workouts both in the morning and the afternoon. Please see the workout schedule in the Member App. The video of the livestream will be shared in the Member App after the livestream.

Is it possible to replay the livestream workouts?
The livestream workouts will be recorded and shared in the Member App. We will post them in the app asap.
