A busy life is a happy life! We all know that it can be quite a challenge to combine children, friends, work and a full agenda. Our mission is to support as many moms (to-be) as possible in building a strong, energetic life foundation. We do this together with our network of positive women. When you are feeling physically and mentally good about yourself, it is easier to make the right choices, to work on your personal ambitions and enjoy your family.
We offer outdoor workouts for pregnant women, postpartum recovery workouts and total body workouts for all women who want to be fit and in shape. Our workouts will not only help you to become stronger and improve your physical fitness, but will also give you energy and a positive mindset. This is exactly what you need in the first years of motherhood! During the workouts, there is always room for your personal needs and wishes, do not hesitate to discuss this with your trainer.
We have ten years of experience and you will find our trainers in parks in different locations all over the world. During your holidays/travels, feel free to join our workouts in The Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria, France, Sweden, Germany, Belgium, Tokyo, Singapore and New York.
HOW IT ALL BEGAN
Meet our founder Esther van Diepen, mother of 4 kids, successful entrepreneur and a sports enthusiast. Together with her husband and children, she lived in New York for a few years, where she was pleasantly surprised by all the (soon-to-be) moms working out in city parks. Esther was inspired and the idea of Mom in Balance was born. In collaboration with various experts, she laid the foundation of our unique sports program which was launched upon her return to The Netherlands in 2008, the rest is history...
THE SPORTS PROGRAM
The Mom in Balance sports program is specially designed for women who are pregnant, for a good recovery after birth and a good work-life balance. Our workouts are designed in collaboration with the best gynaecologists and pelvic floor specialists and are specially tailored to the pregnant, recovering and fit body.
Train outdoors in the fresh air, all year round! Functional total body workout specifically for the pregnant/recovering body. Special attention for a strong back and stability of the pelvis. Awareness of the pelvic floor muscles followed by the recovery of the pelvic floor. Improve your fitness level by doing cardio exercises. Meet other inspiring women in the same stage of motherhood.
TRAINING OF OUR TRAINERS
Mom in Balance trainers follow an intensive course in both theory and practice, provided by our professional education team. In addition, our trainers should complete an internship, after which they receive an official Mom in Balance certificate. Furthermore, we meet with all the trainers every six months in order to discuss new developments.
In 2013, Mom in Balance was recognized as an approved intervention by The Netherlands Institute for Sport and Physical Activity. There are many different lifestyle interventions in The Netherlands and it is not always clear what quality and effects they provide. By assessing these different interventions, the wheat is separated from the chaff, and the quality and effectiveness of the interventions can be shown. The recognition offers an insight into “what works”. For this purpose, a study has been launched to research the effectiveness of the Mom in Balance sports program, in collaboration with TNO (Netherlands Organisation for applied scientific research).
